UNTIL I GOT TO KNOW MRS MARETTO
Earlier this year, my artwork has been displayed at the Hive Gallery in Los Angeles for the 5th edition of Stitch Fetish, a group show of erotic fiber art curated by Ellen Schinderman.
It did not take too long for Jimmy Emmett to pop in my mind after I read the open call for Stitch Fetish 5.
Jimmy Emmett, played by Joaquin Phoenix, is a lost high school boy from Gus van Sant’s movie To Die For. He is being manipulated by a fiercely ambitious local TV host, Suzanne Stone Maretto, who wants to get rid of her husband, Larry.
Jimmy falls in love with Suzanne and agrees along with his two friends, Lydia and Russel, to free her from the husband she falsely accuses of being abusive. Read more ›
TWIN PEAKS DAY
“Diane, 11:30 am, February 24th. Entering the town of Twin Peaks. It’s 5 miles south the Canadian border, 12 miles west of the state line. Never seen so many trees in my life.”
To celebrate the day Agent Cooper arrived in town, I created a new batch of tote bags. They are all hand-painted, hand-embroidered unique pieces.
The emblematic characters and objects from the serie, embroidered in a vivid red, are encircled by the black and white herringbone pattern of the Red Room floor. Read more ›
THE FOREVER : EMBROIDERED PATCHES AND TOTE BAGS
With The forever serie, I chose to pay tribute to some beloved characters, killed by their creator or who passed away along with their performer.
The first five characters are all women : Ruth Fisher, Bettina, Poussey Washington, Aunt Ida and Margaret Lanterman, aka the wonderful Log lady. However Dears, be sure that Omar Little will join this little embroidered assembly pretty soon.
Those declarations of love are declined in unique pieces for the tote bags and limited edition for the patches.
